How to Remove Surface Dust and Lint From Satin Sleepwear

Dark and glossy satin can make tiny fibers look more noticeable than they really are. A few specks of lint do not always mean the garment needs a full wash. With a clean surface and a light touch, you can remove everyday dust and fibers while protecting the smooth finish and delicate lace trim.

Start With the Gentlest Dry Method

Lay the garment flat on a freshly cleaned towel and examine it in soft daylight. Make sure the fabric is completely dry. Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth or a very soft garment brush, moving in one direction with almost no pressure. Support the satin with your other hand instead of rubbing the fabric against the table.

Avoid wet wipes, fragranced sprays, and spot-cleaning mixtures unless the care label specifically allows them. Moisture can leave rings on satin, while vigorous rubbing can change its sheen. Reduce Lint Between Wears
